Neely Traditional and Gilbert Classical Earn Top Rankings from U.S. News & World Report

Neely Traditional Academy and Gilbert Classical Academy (GCA) have been named among the top-ranking schools in the state according to U.S. News & World Report. Neely Traditional Academy was ranked #4 among Arizona's elementary schools, while Gilbert Classical Academy ranked #4 in Arizona's middle schools.

To provide fair rankings for schools across the United States, U.S. News & World Report sums standardized scores of each school on four ranking indicators. The ranking indicators include proficiency and performance in both mathematics and reading. Data is collected from public sources provided by the U.S. Department of Education.

At Neely Traditional Academy (Pre-K through 6th grade), 83% of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 86% scored at or above the proficiency level for reading. These scores, along with a reading and math performance that far exceeded expectations, earned Neely Traditional Academy an overall score of 99.71 out of 100. The overall score places Neely Traditional Academy at #4 among the 1,031 elementary schools ranked in Arizona. Neely has also earned several other recognitions which include being named a 2023 National Blue Ribbon school, securing an A+ School of Excellence Award and receiving an “A” letter grade from the Arizona Department of Education for the 2023-24 school year.

U.S. News & World Report middle school rankings are based on a school’s performance and proficiency in both reading and math. Gilbert Classical Academy scored 88% in mathematics and 94% in reading, marks that place GCA #4 and #2 in the state respectively. Overall, Gilbert Classical Academy earned a score of 99.54 out of 100, which placed the school at #4 out of the 654 ranked middle schools. GCA was recognized nationally as a Blue Ribbon School in 2019, as well as being awarded an A+ School of Excellence, and receiving an ‘A’ letter grade from the Arizona Department of Education for the 2023-24 school year.
