Neely Traditional Academy students were recognized at the GPS Governing Board Meeting on May 12, 2026, for high-level achievements in the Battle of the Books at both the district and regional levels.

The Battle of the Books team, consisting of Kyen Ding, Bridgette Hodges, and Annika Johnson, earned second place in the GPS Battle of the Books after a perfect score of 70 and seven additional tie-breaking rounds. The team represented Gilbert in the Regional Battle on May 6, where they secured a second-place finish against competitors from across the region.
